How do you remove added salt from frozen turkey?
To remove added salt from a frozen turkey, follow these steps:
1. Place the frozen turkey in a large bowl or sink filled with cold water.
2. Add 1/2 cup of salt to the water for every gallon of water used.
3. Let the turkey soak in the salt water for 15 minutes per pound of turkey, up to a maximum of 2 hours.
4. Rinse the turkey thoroughly under cold water to remove any remaining salt.
5. Pat the turkey dry with paper towels.
6. The turkey is now ready to cook or store.
