Rosemary Roasted Turkey in a Bag
If you're looking for an easy and delicious way to cook your Thanksgiving turkey, try this rosemary roasted turkey in a bag method. It's simple, flavorful, and your turkey will come out juicy and tender.
Ingredients:
* 1 (12-14 pound) turkey, thawed
* 2 tablespoons olive oil
* 1 tablespoon salt
* 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
* 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
* 1 teaspoon dried thyme
* 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
* 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
* 1/4 cup chicken broth
* 1 large onion, quartered
* 2 carrots, peeled and quartered
* 2 stalks celery, cut into 1-inch pieces
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).
2. Rinse the turkey inside and out and pat dry.
3. In a large bowl, combine the olive oil, salt, pepper, rosemary, thyme, garlic powder, and onion powder. Rub the mixture all over the turkey, inside and out.
4. Place the turkey in a large roasting bag. Add the chicken broth, onion, carrots, and celery.
5. Seal the bag and place it in a roasting pan.
6. Roast the turkey for 3-4 hours, or until a meat thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the thigh reads 165 degrees F (74 degrees C).
7. Remove the turkey from the oven and let it rest for 15 minutes before carving.
Tips:
* To make sure your turkey is evenly roasted, turn the bag over halfway through cooking.
* If you want your turkey to be extra crispy, you can broil it for a few minutes after it's done roasting.
* Serve the turkey with your favorite sides, such as mashed potatoes, stuffing, and cranberry sauce.
