Beef, Pork, and Lamb

* Steaks, Chops, and Roasts: 8-10 ounces (¼ to ½ pound)

* Ribs: 1¼ to 1 ½ pounds if bone in, ½ pound if boneless

* Ground Beef or Pork (burgers): 8 ounces (½ pound)

* Meatballs: 2-3 ounces

* Bacon: 1-3 strips

Poultry

* Chicken Breast: 8 ounces (½ pound)

* Chicken Thighs: 6-8 ounces (⅓ to ½ pound)

* Chicken Wings: 10 wings

* Turkey Breast: 8-12 ounces (½ to ¾ pound)

* Turkey Thighs: 5-6 ounces (⅓ to ½ pound)

* Cornish Game Hens: One hen per person

Fish and Seafood

* Fillets: 8-10 ounces (½ pound)

* Steaks: 6 ounces

* Lobster Tails: 6-8 ounces

* Shrimp: 10 jumbo shrimp or 1 pound medium

* Crab Legs: 1 pound

When in Doubt

If you're still unsure how much meat to cook for your guests, err on the side of caution and cook less. You can always cook more if needed, but you can't take meat away once it's cooked.
