Where do you store raw and cooked meats?

Raw Meats

* Refrigerator: Raw meat should be stored in the refrigerator at a temperature of 40°F or below. The meat should be placed on a plate or in a container that will catch any juices that may leak out.

* Freezer: Raw meat can also be stored in the freezer for a longer period of time. The meat should be wrapped tightly in plastic wrap or freezer paper to prevent freezer burn.

Cooked Meats

* Refrigerator: Cooked meats should be stored in the refrigerator at a temperature of 40°F or below. Cooked meats should be stored in an airtight container. Cooked red meat can be kept in the refrigerator for up to seven days, cooked seafood for up to two days and cooked poultry for up to four days.

* Freezer: Cooked meats can also be stored in the freezer for a longer period of time. The meat should be wrapped tightly in plastic wrap or freezer paper to prevent freezer burn.
