What are the ingredients for Cheshire cheese soup?
Ingredients:
* 2 cups chicken or vegetable stock
* 2 cups milk
* 1 cup grated Cheshire cheese
* 2 tablespoons flour
* 2 tablespoons butter
* 1/4 teaspoon salt
* 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
* 1/4 cup chopped fresh chives
* 1 cup diced cooked chicken (optional)
* 1/2 cup croutons (optional)
Instructions:
1. In a medium saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
2. Add flour and whisk until smooth.
3. Gradually add stock and milk, whisking constantly.
4. Bring to a simmer and cook for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
5. Add cheese and stir until melted.
6. Season with salt and pepper.
7. If desired, add chicken and croutons.
8. Ladle soup into bowls and garnish with chives.
