What are the main six food groups?
There isn't a strict set of "six food groups" that's universally accepted. However, the most common way to categorize food is by using the five food groups, which are:

Sometimes, oils are included as a separate group, but they're often considered part of the protein foods group since they're often used in cooking and salad dressings.
