How to Smoke a Pork Tenderloin

If you've never enjoyed the tender goodness of a smoked pork tenderloin, you're missing out on healthy and tasty meal. Today's pork is very lean, and you can often find pork tenderloins on sale for very reasonable prices.

Things You'll Need

  • 1 pork tenderloin, about 1 to 2 lbs.
  • Brine mixture
  • Electric or water smoker
  • Kosher salt
  • Fresh ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. Marinate the tenderloin in the brine mixture of your choice overnight.

  2. Remove the pork from the brine mixture, rinse well and pat dry. Prepare and turn on your smoker to allow it to heat up.

  3. Season the pork lightly with salt and pepper; you can add other seasonings such as paprika, dried herbs or garlic.

  4. Place the tenderloin on the smoker and close the lid.

  5. Allow pork to reach an internal temperature of 165 to 170 degrees when measured with an instant-read thermometer.

  6. Remove from smoker and allow the meat to rest at least 10 minutes before cutting and serving.
