Will raw pasta make you sick?
While eating raw pasta is unlikely to make you sick in the sense of food poisoning, it's not recommended for several reasons:
* Digestion: Raw pasta is very difficult to digest. It's basically just pure starch, and your body isn't equipped to break it down properly without cooking. This can lead to bloating, gas, and stomach cramps.
* Nutritional value: Cooking pasta helps break down the starch and makes it more digestible, making the nutrients more accessible to your body. Eating it raw means you won't get the full benefit of its nutritional value.
* Texture: Raw pasta is incredibly hard and chewy, and it's not enjoyable to eat.
The main risk of eating raw pasta is that you could accidentally ingest a small insect or pest that may be living on the uncooked pasta. This could potentially cause illness, but it's not a common occurrence.
In summary: You're unlikely to get sick from eating raw pasta, but it's not a good idea for various reasons. It's best to cook your pasta thoroughly before eating it.
