What is the recipe for chicken chap?

Ingredients:

* 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs, cut into 1-inch pieces

* 1/4 cup plain yogurt

* 1 tablespoon garam masala

* 1 teaspoon ground cumin

* 1 teaspoon ground coriander

* 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder

* 1/4 teaspoon red chili powder

* 1/4 teaspoon salt

* 1/4 cup vegetable oil

* 1 large onion, thinly sliced

* 2 cloves garlic, minced

* 2 teaspoons grated fresh ginger

* 1 cup crushed tomatoes

* 1/2 cup water

* 1/2 cup chopped cilantro leaves

Instructions:

1. In a large bowl, combine the chicken, yogurt, garam masala, cumin, coriander, turmeric, chili powder, and salt. Mix well to coat the chicken. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or up to overnight.

2. Heat the oil in a large pot or Dutch oven over medium heat. Add the onion and cook, stirring occasionally, until softened and browned, about 5 minutes.

3. Add the garlic and ginger and cook for 1 minute more.

4. Add the chicken mixture and cook, stirring occasionally, until the chicken is browned on all sides, about 5 minutes.

5. Add the crushed tomatoes, water, and cilantro and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer, stirring occasionally, until the chicken is cooked through and the sauce has thickened, about 15 minutes.

6. Serve immediately with rice or naan.
