Can people tell the difference between fat and free food?

People can sometimes tell the difference, but not always. Fat and free food can both be disguised to mimic the other. For instance, a regular donut (fatty food) can be made to look like a vegan donut (free food) by topping it with nuts and removing the glaze.

In contrast, research shows that people can recognize high-calorie foods (fatty foods) in the form of drinks when they are given calorie information about them.
