How to Make a Chocolate Pie Crust (3 Steps)
Cream-filled pies with graham cracker crusts are usually crowd-pleasers, and you can increase your guests' delight by using a chocolate crust. Chocolate crust pies provide a decadent cocoa flavor that will complement any cheesecake or cream pie filling. With very little effort you can treat family and friends to an indulgent chocolate pie crust.
Things You'll Need
- 16 chocolate sandwich cookies or 6 oz. chocolate wafers
- Food processor
- Mixing bowl
- 2 to 4 tbsp. melted butter
- Large spoon
- Pie tin
Instructions
-
Preheat the oven to 350 F. Add the cookies or wafers to your food processor. Pulse the cookies until they resemble fine crumbs. Pour the chocolate crumbs into a mixing bowl.
-
Add half the melted butter the crumbs. Mix with a spoon and continue to add more of the butter until the crumbs are moist and will hold together.
-
Press the crumb and butter mixture into the pie tin. Use the back of a spoon to press the crumbs against the bottom and sides of the tin. Bake the crust for eight to 10 minutes, or until you can smell chocolate. Cool the crust completely before adding your filling.
