How many party pies are equal to a large pie?
There's no standard answer to this! It depends on the size of the party pies and the large pie. Here's how to figure it out:
* Measure the diameters: Measure the diameter of the large pie and each party pie.
* Calculate the areas: The area of a circle is calculated by the formula: πr², where r is the radius (half the diameter). Calculate the area of the large pie and the area of a single party pie.
* Divide: Divide the area of the large pie by the area of a single party pie. This will give you the number of party pies that are roughly equivalent to the large pie.
Example:
* Large pie diameter: 12 inches
* Party pie diameter: 4 inches
1. Radius of large pie: 6 inches
2. Area of large pie: π(6²) = 113.1 square inches
3. Radius of party pie: 2 inches
4. Area of party pie: π(2²) = 12.6 square inches
5. Party pies needed: 113.1 / 12.6 ≈ 9 party pies
Important Note: This calculation is an approximation. You might need to adjust the number of party pies slightly depending on the thickness of the crust and filling.
