How is fried ice cream made?

Step 1: Make the Ice Cream

You can use any flavor of ice cream, but vanilla bean is a classic. To make the ice cream, you will need:

* 1 cup heavy cream

* 1 cup milk

* 1/2 cup sugar

* 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

* 2 egg yolks

Instructions:

1. In a medium saucepan, combine the cream, milk, and sugar. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring constantly.

2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg yolks and vanilla extract. Slowly whisk the hot cream mixture into the egg yolks, tempering the eggs.

3. Return the mixture to the saucepan and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture has thickened enough to coat the back of a spoon.

4. Remove from heat and let cool for a few minutes. Then, transfer to an ice cream maker and freeze according to the manufacturer's instructions.

Step 2: Roll the Ice Cream in Cornflakes

Once the ice cream is frozen, take it out of the ice cream maker and roll it into 1-inch balls. Then, roll the balls in cornflakes to coat them.

Step 3: Fry the Ice Cream

To fry the ice cream, you will need:

* 1/2 cup vegetable oil

* A large skillet

Instructions:

1. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

2. Working in batches, carefully drop the ice cream balls into the hot oil. Fry for 2-3 minutes per side, or until the cornflakes are golden brown and the ice cream is slightly melted.

3. Remove the ice cream balls from the skillet and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain.

Step 4: Serve the Fried Ice Cream

Serve the fried ice cream immediately with your favorite toppings, such as whipped cream, chocolate sauce, or caramel sauce.
