What is the recipe for gorditas?

Ingredients:

* 2 cups masa harina

* 1 teaspoon salt

* 1 1/2 cups warm water

* 1/4 cup vegetable oil, plus more for greasing the pan

* 1/2 cup shredded chicken or beef

* 1/2 cup chopped onion

* 1/2 cup chopped tomato

* 1/2 cup chopped cilantro

* 1 avocado, sliced

* Sour cream, for serving

* Salsa, for serving

Instructions:

1. In a large bowl, combine the masa harina and salt.

2. Add the warm water and mix until the dough comes together.

3. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for 5 minutes until it is smooth and elastic.

4. Cover the dough with plastic wrap and let it rest for 30 minutes.

5. Preheat a large skillet over medium heat.

6. Grease the pan with vegetable oil.

7. Pinch off a piece of dough and roll it into a ball about the size of a golf ball.

8. Flatten the ball into a disc about 1/4-inch thick.

9. Place the disc on the hot skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until it is golden brown.

10. Repeat with the remaining dough.

11. To assemble the gorditas, place a few spoonfuls of shredded chicken or beef in the center of each gordita.

12. Top with chopped onion, tomato, and cilantro.

13. Add a few slices of avocado and a dollop of sour cream.

14. Drizzle with salsa.
