What is the best recipe for pork roast?
Ingredients
- 1 pork shoulder, bone-in
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon dried sage
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 cup apple cider
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F.
2. Trim excess fat from the pork shoulder.
3. In a small bowl, combine the salt, pepper, thyme, sage, garlic powder, and onion powder.
4. Rub the spice mixture all over the pork shoulder.
5. Place the pork shoulder in a large roasting pan.
6. In a liquid measuring cup, whisk together the apple cider, chicken broth, and Dijon mustard.
7. Pour the liquid mixture over the pork shoulder.
8. Cover the roasting pan with foil.
9. Roast the pork shoulder in the preheated oven for 3 hours, or until the pork is tender.
10. Remove the foil from the roasting pan.
11. Increase the oven temperature to 400 degrees F.
12. Roast the pork shoulder for an additional 30 minutes, or until the pork is browned.
13. Let the pork shoulder rest for 15 minutes before slicing and serving.
