How to Make Simple Bowtie Pasta Parmesan Toss
Bowtie pasta is spruced up with roma tomatoes and fresh Parmesan cheese in this simple recipe that's a cinch to put together at the last minute. This is great on its own, or serve as a side dish for meat loaf, grilled chicken or burgers.
Things You'll Need
- 1 (16 oz.) package bowtie pasta
- 1 tbsp. olive oil
- 3 to 4 tbsp. butter or margarine, softened
- 1/2 cup fresh grated Parmesan
- 3-4 roma tomatoes, diced
- 1 tbsp. fresh minced basil or 2 tsp. dried basil
- 1/2 tsp. dried oregano
Instructions
-
Fill a large cooking pot with water about 3/4 of the way from the top, and add olive oil. Bring to a boil over high heat. Add pasta and turn heat to medium. Boil uncovered about 10 minutes, or until done. Drain pasta in colander and return to pan. Set aside.
-
While pasta is boiling, wash and dice tomatoes. Chop basil if using fresh. Set butter or margarine out to soften.
-
Add diced tomatoes to cooked pasta and stir with a wooden spoon.
-
Next, add butter or margarine, basil, Parmesan and spices. Mix until blended with a wooden spoon.
-
Turn pasta into serving dish. Serve with more Parmesan on the side, if desired.
