How to Make Simple Bowtie Pasta Parmesan Toss

Bowtie pasta is spruced up with roma tomatoes and fresh Parmesan cheese in this simple recipe that's a cinch to put together at the last minute. This is great on its own, or serve as a side dish for meat loaf, grilled chicken or burgers.

Things You'll Need

  • 1 (16 oz.) package bowtie pasta
  • 1 tbsp. olive oil
  • 3 to 4 tbsp. butter or margarine, softened
  • 1/2 cup fresh grated Parmesan
  • 3-4 roma tomatoes, diced
  • 1 tbsp. fresh minced basil or 2 tsp. dried basil
  • 1/2 tsp. dried oregano

Instructions

  1. Fill a large cooking pot with water about 3/4 of the way from the top, and add olive oil. Bring to a boil over high heat. Add pasta and turn heat to medium. Boil uncovered about 10 minutes, or until done. Drain pasta in colander and return to pan. Set aside.

  2. While pasta is boiling, wash and dice tomatoes. Chop basil if using fresh. Set butter or margarine out to soften.

  3. Add diced tomatoes to cooked pasta and stir with a wooden spoon.

  4. Next, add butter or margarine, basil, Parmesan and spices. Mix until blended with a wooden spoon.

  5. Turn pasta into serving dish. Serve with more Parmesan on the side, if desired.
