What is a summary of Beka Lamb chapter nine 9?

Beka Lamb and her mentor, Rhoswen, arrive in the fortress-city of Thendara by way of the forest rather than the usual road in order to avoid the danger of being discovered by pirates from neighboring Carthak. Upon entering the city, Rhoswen introduces Beka to her family and friends, and Beka is given a chance to explore the bustling city. She quickly discovers a group of children playing a game called “King of the Hill,” which she eagerly participates in. The game requires strength, agility, and quick wit, all qualities Beka possesses.

As Beka enjoys her time with the children, she notices that Rhoswen is engaged in conversations with various individuals. When she inquires about these discussions, Rhoswen explains that most people in the city either belong to the Queen's Guard or the Craftmasters’ Hall. The Craftmasters’ Hall, similar to the King's Guild in the Provost's Keep, consists of skilled artisans and tradespeople. Rhoswen plans to introduce Beka to some members of the Craftmasters’ Hall the following day.

However, their plans take an unexpected turn as a message arrives alerting Rhoswen to an urgent problem. A group of pirates has attacked a nearby village, leaving many people injured. Rhoswen swiftly decides that Beka and she should set off immediately to help those affected by the pirate raid.

With this change of plans, Beka and Rhoswen leave Thendara behind, heading toward the village that suffered the pirate attack. They embark on a new adventure, their bond strengthened by the challenges they face together.
