Here is a foolproof recipe for beef stroganoff:
Ingredients:
- 1 pound of flank steak, cut into thin strips
- 1 tablespoon of olive oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup of sliced mushrooms
- 1/2 cup of beef broth
- 1/4 cup of heavy cream
- 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon of Dijon mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper
- 1/4 cup of chopped fresh parsley
Instructions:
1. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
2. Add the beef strips and cook until browned on all sides.
3. Add the onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
4. Add the garlic and mushrooms and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
5. Add the beef broth, heavy cream, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, salt, and black pepper.
6. Bring the sauce to a simmer and cook for 15-20 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened.
7. Stir in the chopped parsley and serve over cooked noodles or rice.
