hot dogs be called pigs?
Hot dogs are not called pigs. They are called hot dogs because they are a type of sausage that is made from ground pork or beef. The term "hot dog" is thought to have originated in the late 1800s, when German immigrants began selling sausages on the streets of New York City. They called these sausages "dachshund sausages" or "little dog sausages," because they were shaped like dachshunds. Over time, the name was shortened to "hot dogs."
