What time of the year do cocoa trees harvest?
The cocoa harvest season depends on the location of the cocoa trees. There are two main cocoa harvests: the main crop, and the mid-crop (or the intermediate crop).
Main crop
West African cocoa trees typically have their main crop from October to March, with the peak in December and January.
Mid-crop
The mid-crop is smaller and occurs from June to September. It's not present in all cocoa trees.
In South American cocoa trees, the main and mid-crop seasons can vary slighty.
