How can you split a pistachio nut shell?

1. Hold the pistachio nut in one hand between your thumb and forefinger.

2. With your other hand, use your fingernail or a nutcracker to gently pry open the shell along the natural seam.

3. Be careful not to apply too much pressure, as the shell can break into small pieces.

If successful, once one seam is open you can then split the shell fully open along this line without too much difficulty. If you cannot find an obvious place to insert your nail or cracking method try the other end.

4. Once the shell is open, remove the pistachio nut inside and enjoy!
