What part of the plant does a runner beans come from?
Runners are beans, and like other beans, they are the seeds of a flowering plant. These plants are part of the family Fabaceae and are scientifically known as Phaseolus coccineus. The beans are contained within pods that grow along the plant's stems. When ripe, these pods can be harvested and the beans removed for cooking.
