What will happen if salt is sprinkle on cucumber slices?
Sprinkling salt on cucumber slices can cause the cucumbers to release water through a process called osmosis. Osmosis occurs when there is a difference in solute concentration between two solutions. In this case, the salt solution has a higher solute concentration than the cucumber slices.
The water molecules inside cucumbers will move through the cell membrane to the salt solution where there are more solutes. This movement of water causes the cucumber to become limp.
Additionally, the salt will draw out the moisture from the cucumbers. This can cause the cucumber slices to become soft and may cause them to wilt.
