Can my cat have mash potatoes.... he loves them so very much and i didnt know if it would hurt him?
Cats should not eat mashed potatoes. Mashed potatoes are high in carbohydrates and low in protein, which is not a good diet for cats. Cats are obligate carnivores, which means that they must eat meat in order to survive. Mashed potatoes also contain milk, which can cause diarrhea and vomiting in cats. Additionally, the salt and butter that are often added to mashed potatoes can be harmful to cats.
Here are some other foods that cats should not eat:
* Chocolate
* Coffee
* Tea
* Alcohol
* Grapes
* Raisins
* Onions
* Garlic
* Chives
* Macadamia nuts
* Avocados
If you are not sure whether or not a food is safe for your cat to eat, it is always best to consult with your veterinarian.
