How much time should you let a steak sit out before puting it in the refigerator?
It is not recommended to let a steak (or any perishable food item) sit out before refrigerating it, as this allows it to enter the "Danger Zone" of temperatures between 40°F and 140°F. In this range, bacteria can multiply rapidly, potentially leading to foodborne illness. Instead, it's best to refrigerate leftovers and other perishable foods within two hours of cooking.
