How to Make Turkey Chili (5 Steps)

Making chili allows you to experiment by adding different ingredients each time. Instead of using ground beef, we will be using ground turkey, which is a lot healthier as well as a lot less expensive.

Things You'll Need

  • Ground Turkey
  • 3 cans of red kidney beans
  • 1 can tomato paste
  • 1 can tomato sauce
  • 1 cup of water
  • 3 cans of diced Italian tomatoes
  • 1 bottle of chili powder
  • 1 small onion
  • Shredded Cheese
  • Large pot with lid

How to Make Turkey Chili

  1. Go to your local grocery store and pick up two to three pounds of ground turkey. If there is none available, ask the butcher to grind you some. Cost of the ground turkey will be 50 percent less than ground beef.

  2. Place your large pot on the burner. Turn burner on medium to medium high heat and place ground turkey inside pot and cook thoroughly.

  3. Put tomato paste, diced tomatoes , chili powder, water and tomato sauce into a pot with the cooked ground turkey. Stir well until completely incorporated. Let cook for approximately 15 minutes with lid on.

  4. Open cans of kidney beans and cut up onion into small pieces. Place these ingredients in the pot and stir again. Turn stove down to medium heat and allow to cook for 3 1/2 hours.

  5. Lift lid and stir ingredients after 3 1/2 hours. Serve with shredded cheese on top and enjoy !
