How to Cook Turkey in Foil
Turkey is a delicious poultry meat that is versatile enough to be used in a sandwich for lunch or as the main course in holiday meals. If you want a turkey that is moist, juicy and flavorful, you may want to consider roasting it in foil. The foil traps in all the steam and helps the turkey slow roast to perfection. The final result is a tasty and tender bird that will satisfy anyone's appetite.
Things You'll Need
- Kitchen shears
- Paper towel
- Salt
- Pepper
- Butter
- Aluminum foil
- Roasting pan
Instructions
-
Preheat your oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit.
-
Use kitchen shears to cut off the turkey's neck skin, as well as any other excess skin or fat. Remove all the giblets that are inside the cavity.
-
Pat the bird down, inside and out, with paper towels. Rub salt and pepper all over the turkey.
-
Baste the turkey with a stick of melted butter.
-
Wrap the turkey with 18-inch-wide aluminum foil, but don't make it airtight. Set the foil wrapped turkey into a roasting pan.
-
Cook the turkey for 20 minutes per pound. Allow the turkey to rest for 15 minutes before cutting into it.
