What do farm raised shrimp eat?

Commercially farmed shrimp are usually fed commercial feeds that are specifically designed for their nutritional requirements. These feeds are typically composed of a mixture of ingredients such as fish meal, soybean meal, wheat flour, and other plant materials. In some cases, these feeds may also be supplemented with vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients to ensure the shrimp receive all the essential nutrients they need.

In addition to the purpose-made feeds, farm raised shrimp may also consume other forms of available organic matter, such as algae and other micro-organisms, and potentially decaying organic matter or biofouling present on the culture systems.
