How to Make a Glaze for Pork Chops Using Orange Juice

Glazing is a cooking technique that can help you make outstanding pork chops. A glaze consists of an oil, a sweetener, aromatics and an acidic component such as citrus. Using fresh or concentrated OJ and a few complimentary ingredients can yield a delicious glaze that works well whether you are grilling or broiling. Things You'll Need

  • Orange juice
  • Honey
  • Olive oil
  • Spices such as cumin, paprika and parsley
  • Salt and pepper
  • Pork chops

Instructions

  1. Whisk together 2 parts orange juice, one part honey and one part olive oil.

  2. Add spices to mixture and season with salt and pepper to taste.

  3. Cook the mixture on a stove top until it thickens and reduces by about half.

  4. Prepare pork chops by seasoning with salt and pepper. Using a pastry brush, paint about half of the glaze onto the chops.

  5. Cook pork chops on a grill or broil in the oven. Just before serving, brush on the remainder of the glaze to finish the meat and enhance its flavor.
