How to Make Stir Fry With Boneless Pork Chops
Even though meats like pork and beef are used, along with a small amount of oil, stir frying is still a healthy cooking technique. The amount of fat used in stir fry is nominal and the ideal proteins, like pork chops, are incredibly lean. This, when added to vegetables, makes for a complete, filling meal you can make in a wok or large skillet. The key for using pork chops is to use boneless, thinly cut pieces of meat.
Things You'll Need
- Paper towel
- Knife
- Cutting board
- Wok or large skillet
- Vegetable oil
- Spatula or wooden spoon
- Vegetables
- Sauces and seasonings
Instructions
-
Remove the pork chops from their packaging and pat them dry using paper towel. Cut any excess fat from around the edges of the pork using a sharp knife on a cutting board. Cut the pork chops into 1/4- to 1/2-inch strips.
-
Heat 1 to 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet. Add the pork chop strips to the wok or skillet once the oil begins to shimmer and wisps of smoke can be seen from the oil.
-
Stir fry the pork chop strips in the wok or skillet for about 5 minutes or until the meat is no longer pink. Add vegetables to the wok or skillet and stir fry with the pork for another 5 minutes. Any vegetables added should also be sliced thinly. Vegetables to consider include carrots, bean sprouts, bell peppers, onion, cabbage and snow peas.
-
Add any seasonings or sauces and stir fry for another 1 to 2 minutes until everything is coated and the added sauces begin to thicken. Seasonings and sauces that can be added include onion powder, garlic powder, ground ginger, Asian five-spice powder, soy sauce, teriyaki sauce and Worcester sauce.
