How to Use Leftover Grilled Pork

It probably won't happen often, but when you end up with leftover grilled pork, don't let it go to waste. Refrigerate extra servings of pork chops, pork loin roast or pork tenderloin, and use them the next day in entirely different creations. Pork is great in sandwiches -- but that's just one of the ways to serve these delicious leftovers.

Asian Stir-Fry

  • Incorporate grilled pork into Asian-inspired dishes. The grilling adds a hint of smokiness to the finished dish. Stir-fry it with vegetables, such as been sprouts, grated carrots, shredded cabbage and chopped scallions, along with a bit of garlic and ginger. Smear hoisin or plum sauce on a rice wrapper or tortilla, add the pork and roll up. Make sweet and sour pork using a store-bought sweet and sour sauce. Add chunks of pineapple and lightly sauteed onions and sweet peppers, heat through and serve over rice.

Mexican Magic

  • Stuff grilled pork into a taco, roll it up into a burrito or pile it on a crispy tostada shell for a Mexican treat. Combine the pork with salsa or chopped tomatoes, tomatillos, red onions, jalapenos and cilantro for a burst of fresh flavors. Or create an enchilada casserole by layering corn tortillas, pork, refried beans, enchilada sauce and cheese in a baking dish. Bake the ingredients until they bubble and the cheese has melted into oozy goodness.

Down-South Barbecue

  • Southerners know their way around grilled pork -- or barbecued pork, as they call it. Slow-cooked, falling-off-the-bone pork nestled into a bun or piled on top of rice makes a satisfying lunch or dinner. Use grilled pork the same way, but simmer it in barbecue sauce for 10 to 15 minutes first. If you don't have sauce on hand, create one by adding a handful of dried onion flakes and brown sugar to a good cupful of ketchup.

German Goodness

  • Pork is a featured meat in German cuisine. Combine leftover pork with spaetzle and sour cream, then heat through. Add mushrooms and you've created pork stroganoff. Make a hearty sandwich with the pork, dill pickles and sauerkraut. Serve it on rye bread with a side of potato salad. If you don't have enough pork for a sandwich, add it to the potato salad with some caraway seeds, sliced radishes and chopped dill.
