Fresh pasta serves as a great main dish or the perfect side dish to many meals. The one thing about pasta is that it is really easy to cook. Most pastas boil to fully cooked in 7 to 12 minutes, allowing for a quick-fix meal if necessary. If you have ever wondered how to easily cook fresh pasta, these short and simple steps will tell you all that you need to know.

Things You'll Need

  • 2 to 4 quart boiling pan
  • Stove
  • Noodle strainer
  • Oven mitts
  • Olive oil
  • Salt
  • Garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Boil water. Fill a 2 to 4 quart pan just over halfway with water. Place on a larger burner on high heat and bring to a boil.

  2. Add olive oil and seasonings. Add a dash of olive oil, a pinch of salt and a dash of garlic to season the water.

  3. Add pasta to boiling water. Empty the pasta into the water and reduce the heat on the burner to medium. Allow to boil for 7 to 12 minutes or until the pasta is tender.

  4. Strain and serve. Using your oven mitts, remove the pasta from the heat and dump into a strainer over the sink. Shake excess water off, serve and enjoy.
