How to Make Fresh Homemade Tomato Pasta Sauce
It's quick and easy to create a delicious homemade pasta sauce that's both healthy and versatile. Make it vegetarian or add tuna or salmon to create seafood marinara. Pour over pasta and serve with fresh garlic bread.
Things You'll Need
- 10 tomatoes
- Garlic
- 2 tablespoons extra virgin oil
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon burgundy wine (optional)
- Blender
Instructions
-
Gather and wash your tomatoes and remove the cores. Cut into quarters and put in a blender. If you like, save one or two to dice and add to the pot.
-
Peel some fresh garlic to taste; add to the blender with your tomatoes. Blend well on high. After the mixture has been blended, pour the mixture into a pot and heat, stirring occasionally. Optionally, add red canned salmon or albacore tuna to create a healthy seafood marinara. Add a twist of lemon when serving seafood style.
-
Add two tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil, and one tablespoon of sugar. You can add a tablespoon of burgundy wine if you like. Let simmer on low heat for about four hours.
