How do you bake an already smoked ham?
You don't really "bake" a smoked ham, you reheat it! Here's how to do it:
Methods for Reheating Smoked Ham:
* Oven: Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C). Place the ham in a baking dish and cover it tightly with foil. Bake for 15-20 minutes per pound, or until the internal temperature reaches 140°F (60°C).
* Slow Cooker: Place the ham in your slow cooker and cover it with liquid (apple cider, water, or even beer). Cook on low for 4-6 hours, or until the ham is heated through.
* Stovetop: Place the ham in a large pot and cover it with liquid (apple cider, water, or even beer). Bring to a simmer and cook for 15-20 minutes, or until the ham is heated through.
Tips for Reheating:
* Scoring: Score the ham before reheating to help it cook evenly.
* Glazing: While the ham is reheating, make a glaze (honey, mustard, brown sugar, etc.) and brush it on for the last 30 minutes of cooking.
* Resting: Let the ham rest for 10-15 minutes before carving.
Serving Suggestions:
* Serve your reheated ham with mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, green beans, or other sides.
* Add it to sandwiches or salads.
* Use leftover ham in soups or stews.
Enjoy your delicious and easy-to-reheat smoked ham!
