How long do you cook a chicken in pressure cooker?
Cooking time for chicken in a pressure cooker will vary depending on the size and amount of chicken you are cooking. Here is a general guideline:
Whole Chicken:
- 4-5 pound whole chicken - cook for 15-20 minutes
- 6-7 pound whole chicken - cook for 20-25 minutes
Chicken Breasts, Thighs, Drumsticks:
- Boneless, skinless chicken breasts - cook for 8-10 minutes
- Boneless, skinless chicken thighs - cook for 10-12 minutes
- Bone-in, skin-on chicken breasts - cook for 12-15 minutes
- Bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs - cook for 15-18 minutes
Note: These cooking times are based on chicken cooked with 1 cup of cooking liquid. Adjust the cooking time if you choose to add more or less liquid. When the cooking time is complete, it's always a good idea to use a meat thermometer to ensure that the chicken has reached a safe internal temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit (74 degrees Celsius).
