How long does it take to make baked chicken?
The time it takes to bake chicken depends on a few factors:
* Size of the chicken: A whole chicken will take longer than chicken breasts or thighs.
* Oven temperature: Higher temperatures will cook the chicken faster.
* Whether the chicken is bone-in or boneless: Bone-in chicken will take longer to cook.
* The desired level of doneness: Chicken should be cooked to an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) for safety.
Here are some general guidelines:
* Whole chicken (4-5 lbs): 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours at 350°F (175°C)
* Chicken breasts (bone-in): 30-45 minutes at 350°F (175°C)
* Chicken breasts (boneless, skinless): 20-30 minutes at 350°F (175°C)
* Chicken thighs (bone-in): 40-50 minutes at 350°F (175°C)
* Chicken thighs (boneless, skinless): 25-35 minutes at 350°F (175°C)
It's always best to use a meat thermometer to ensure the chicken is cooked through. Don't rely solely on the time estimate, as oven temperatures can vary.
