How to Make Delicious Soy Shakes & Smoothies
Whether your live a vegetarian lifestyle or you cannot tolerate dairy products, soy shakes and smoothies provide a healthy yet indulgent-tasting treat for breakfast, snacks or dessert. Change the type of fruit used for your soy smoothies or the ice cream flavor used for your soy shakes to make your own recipes using this technique for vegan blender drinks. Things You'll Need
- 1 cup fresh or frozen fruit
- Knife
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract (optional)
- ½ to 1 cup plain or vanilla soy milk
- ½ cup silken tofu (optional)
- 1 cup soy ice cream (any flavor)
- Blender
- 2 serving glasses, 16-oz.
- Straws
Make Soy Smoothies with Fruit

Peel and seed fresh fruit. Chop both fresh and frozen fruits into ½-inch cubes.

Place the fruit into the jar of a blender.

Add 1 tsp. vanilla extract to the fruit if desired.

Pour 1 cup of plain or vanilla soy milk over the fruit in the blender.

Add ½ cup of silken tofu over the fruit and soy milk to give the smoothing added body.

Blend the fruit, soy milk and tofu on puree until smooth and serve in two glasses with straws.
Make Soy "Ice Cream" Shakes

Combine 1 cup of soy ice cream with ½ cup of plain or vanilla soy milk in the jar of a blender.

Blend on puree until desired consistency.

Increase the amount of soy ice cream or add ½ cup of silken tofu to the soy "milk" shake for more body if desired.

Serve immediately in a single glass with a straw.
