Convert light corn syrup to dark syrup?
Ingredients:
* 1 cup light corn syrup
* 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
* 1/4 teaspoon molasses
Instructions:
1. In a medium saucepan, whisk together the light corn syrup, brown sugar, and molasses until combined.
2. Place over medium heat and bring to a boil, stirring occasionally.
3. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 5 minutes, or until the syrup has thickened slightly and turned a dark amber color.
4. Remove from heat and let cool completely before using.
Tips:
* To make a larger batch of dark corn syrup, simply double or triple the ingredients.
* Store the dark corn syrup in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 6 months.
* Dark corn syrup can be used in place of light corn syrup in any recipe. However, it will add a slightly richer flavor and color to your baked goods.
