According to the medieval concept, Gluttonomia is one of the Seven Deadly Sins. It refers to the overindulgence and overconsumption of anything to the point of waste. It is closely related to greed, sloth and lust.
Gluttonomia symbolizes the excessive or greedy pursuits of earthly pleasures, particularly pertaining to food and drink, often to the point of harming one's health and well-being. It is associated with the Latin term "gula" (throat).
