Who is the founder of tea?

There's no single "founder" of tea! It's believed that tea originated in China, possibly around the 3rd millennium BCE.

The legend says that Shennong, a mythical emperor and herbalist, accidentally discovered tea when leaves from a wild tea tree fell into his boiling water.

While the exact origin story is unclear, the use of tea spread throughout China and eventually the world, becoming a beloved beverage enjoyed by billions.
