Where do they make fortune cookies?
While fortune cookies are often associated with Chinese restaurants, they are not actually a traditional Chinese food. They were most likely invented in Japan in the early 20th century and were later popularized in the United States by Chinese restaurants.
Today, most fortune cookies are made in factories, often in China itself, and distributed worldwide. While there are some smaller producers and bakeries that make their own fortune cookies, the majority are mass-produced.
