Refrigerator

1. Wrap leftover sugar cookie dough in plastic wrap or place it in an airtight container. Avoid leaving any areas of the dough exposed.

2. Place the cookie dough in the refrigerator. Refrigerate the cookie dough for two to three days.

3. Discard the sugar cookie dough after three days.

Freezer

1. Separate dough into your desired portions according to the recipe. Roll or slice the cookie dough as desired. Place it on a cookie sheet in the freezer until the sugar cookie dough hardens completely.

2. Wrap the cookie dough in freezer paper or place it in a freezer storage bag. Write the contents and the date on the freezer paper or storage bag with a permanent marker.

3. Place the cookie dough in the freezer. Freeze the cookie dough for up to three months.

4. Bake the cookies straight from the freezer or place the sugar cookie dough in the refrigerator to thaw. You will need to increase the baking time to ensure that they cook properly.
