How to Cook Frozen Cookie Dough
Making cookies can be a time-consuming and messy task. It may seem as though you have limited options when you want cookies: make them from scratch, buy and bake pre-made dough, or buy completely pre-made cookies. Fortunately, there is another choice. Next time you go to the trouble of making cookies, make more than you will need and freeze the rest of the dough. You can then simply pull it out of the freezer and bake it whenever the mood strikes.
Things You'll Need
- Knife or spoon
- Baking sheet
Instructions
-
Remove the frozen cookie dough from the freezer and allow it to thaw slightly in the refrigerator. You do not actually need to thaw it, but doing so will make it easier to cut (if necessary). You do not need to thaw the dough if it is already divided into pieces of the correct size.
-
Divide the dough into pieces of the correct size, if it is not already divided. For a log of frozen dough, this means cutting it into slices. If you are using a flat sheet of dough, cut it into cubes. If your cookie dough is in one solid block, carve out pieces with a spoon.
-
Arrange the frozen cookie dough pieces on a baking sheet as dictated by the recipe. Bake them as the recipe suggests, but add about two minutes to the time suggested by the recipe. Keep a close eye on the cookies during this process to avoid burning them.
