How to Make Maple Cotton Candy
Cotton candy is a treat that people associate with county fairs and trips to Disneyland. But it's not just for special occasions anymore. You can make maple cotton candy in your own home without a cotton candy machine.
Things You'll Need
- 1 1/3 cup granulated white sugar 2/3 cup granulated maple sugar 1/2 cup water 1/2 tsp. light corn syrup Saucepan Wooden spoon to stir Candy thermometer Fork Glass bowl Nonstick cooking spray
Instructions
-
Put sugar, water and corn syrup into the saucepan and turn the burner to medium-low heat.
-
Stir constantly until the sugar is completely dissolved. Raise burner temperature to high.
-
Use a candy thermometer to monitor the temperature. Once it reaches 310 degrees Fahrenheit, remove the pot from the heat.
-
Let the pot sit for about 15 seconds. Use that time to coat the bowl with nonstick cooking spray.
-
Dip the fork into the syrup and drizzle it into the bowl in a circular motion. Repeat until the bowl is full.
-
Eat the cotton candy out of the bowl.
