How to Make Maple Cotton Candy

Cotton candy is a treat that people associate with county fairs and trips to Disneyland. But it's not just for special occasions anymore. You can make maple cotton candy in your own home without a cotton candy machine.

Things You'll Need

  • 1 1/3 cup granulated white sugar 2/3 cup granulated maple sugar 1/2 cup water 1/2 tsp. light corn syrup Saucepan Wooden spoon to stir Candy thermometer Fork Glass bowl Nonstick cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Put sugar, water and corn syrup into the saucepan and turn the burner to medium-low heat.

  2. Stir constantly until the sugar is completely dissolved. Raise burner temperature to high.

  3. Use a candy thermometer to monitor the temperature. Once it reaches 310 degrees Fahrenheit, remove the pot from the heat.

  4. Let the pot sit for about 15 seconds. Use that time to coat the bowl with nonstick cooking spray.

  5. Dip the fork into the syrup and drizzle it into the bowl in a circular motion. Repeat until the bowl is full.

  6. Eat the cotton candy out of the bowl.
