The first chocolate candy bar was created in 1847 by Joseph Fry, a British chocolate maker. Fry mixed sugar, cocoa powder, and cocoa butter to create a paste, which he then molded into bars and coated with chocolate. He called his creation "Fry's Chocolate Cream".
