How do you freeze a cake?
### To freeze a cake:
1. Cool the cake completely on a wire rack.
2. Wrap the cake in plastic wrap.
- If the cake has frosting, place the plastic wrap directly on the frosting.
- If the cake is unfrosted, place a layer of plastic wrap on the cake board and then place the cake on the plastic wrap.
3. Wrap the cake in foil.
- This will help to protect the cake from freezer burn.
4. Place the wrapped cake in the freezer.
- Most unfrosted cakes will keep in the freezer for up to 2 months and most frosted cakes will freeze well for up to 1 month.
5. To thaw a cake, remove it from the freezer and let it thaw at room temperature for several hours.
- If the cake is unfrosted, you can frost it after it has thawed.
- If the cake is frosted, you can serve it immediately once thawed.
