How to Make Pudding Cake From Scratch
Pudding is an all-time favorite for just about everyone. Pudding comes in so many styles, flavors and consistencies. It is served either cold or warm and is delicious in whatever form it takes. You may think that making a homemade pudding cake from scratch may be difficult, but it is not. With a few of the right ingredients and about an hour or so of time, you can be nibbling on some warm homemade pudding cake right out of the oven.
Things You'll Need
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- ½ tsp. salt
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- ¾ cup sugar
- 2 tbsp. butter, melted
- ¾ cup brown sugar
- ¼ cup cocoa powder
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1 ½ quart baking pan
- Small saucepan
- Medium bowl
- Small bowl
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

Combine the flour, sugar, salt, baking powder and 2 tbsp. of cocoa powder into the baking pan.

Mix together the melted butter, vanilla extract and 1 cup of water into a medium bowl. Pour this into the baking pan. Mix all ingredients well.

Combine ¼ cup of cocoa powder and the brown sugar into a small bowl and mix well. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the batter in the baking pan. Do not mix.

Boil 1 cup of water in a small saucepan. Pour boiling water over the top of the batter in the baking pan. Do not mix.

Place baking pan in oven for 45 minutes. Remove and let cool for 15 minutes.

Serve plain, with ice cream or whipped cream.
