How do you make a rice crispy treat?
How to Make Rice Krispies Treats:
Ingredients:
* 3 tablespoons butter
* 1 (10 oz) bag of marshmallows
* 5 cups Rice Krispies cereal
Equipment:
* Large saucepan
* Wooden spoon
* Large bowl
* Waxed paper or parchment paper
Instructions:
1. Melt the butter: In a large saucepan, melt the butter over low heat.
2. Add the marshmallows: Once the butter is melted, add the marshmallows and stir until they are completely melted and smooth. You can use a wooden spoon or a spatula for this.
3. Add the cereal: Remove the saucepan from the heat and carefully add the Rice Krispies cereal. Stir until the cereal is evenly coated with the marshmallow mixture.
4. Press into pan: Lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking pan or use waxed paper or parchment paper to line it. Pour the Rice Krispies treat mixture into the pan and press it down firmly with a buttered spatula or the back of a spoon.
5. Cool and cut: Let the treats cool completely before cutting them into squares.
Tips:
* For extra fun: Add in your favorite mix-ins like chocolate chips, nuts, sprinkles, or dried fruit. Just add them with the cereal and mix them in.
* For a crispier treat: Use a buttered knife to cut the treats. This helps prevent them from sticking.
* For a smoother texture: Use a microwave-safe bowl to melt the butter and marshmallows. This can help prevent burning and create a smoother marshmallow mixture.
* For a more intense flavor: Use a marshmallow cream instead of regular marshmallows.
Enjoy your homemade Rice Krispies treats!
