How to Get an Acurite Wireless Thermometer to Quit Beeping
Acurite wireless cooking thermometers allow you to walk away from the oven or barbecue when cooking your food. When your food reaches the temperature you set on the thermometer, the main unit sends a signal to a wireless pager, alerting you that your food is done. If the main unit is not connected to the pager, the pager will beep once every five seconds. You must reestablish a connection between the main unit and the pager to stop the beeping.
Things You'll Need
- 2 AA batteries
Instructions
-
Replace the batteries in the cooking and barbecue thermometer. To replace the batteries, remove the battery cover from the back of the device by lifting up on the tab near the bottom of the thermometer. Remove and dispose of the old batteries. Insert the left battery with the positive polarity facing up and the right battery with the positive polarity facing down. Reattach the battery cover when finished.
-
Move the pager so it is within 100 feet of the thermometer. The maximum range of the pager is 100 feet as long as nothing is blocking the signal, such as a wall. Ensure the thermometer and the pager are 3 feet from any electronic device. Electronic devices may disrupt the signal from the thermometer to the pager.
-
Reset the connection between the thermometer and the pager. To reset the connection, place the thermometer and the pager in the same room. Turn off the thermometer by pressing the "On/Off" button on the bottom of the device, and turn off the pager by pressing the "Power" button. Turn on both units again by pressing the same buttons a second time. Wait at least five minutes before using the thermometer to ensure the wireless devices are synchronized.
