When can you visualize yolk sac on ultrasound?
The yolk sac is usually visible on ultrasound by the 5th or 6th week of pregnancy. It appears as a small, round, anechoic (black) structure within the gestational sac. The yolk sac is an important early marker for pregnancy and can be used to confirm the presence of a pregnancy and to assess its viability.
